Indian rulers through local stooges are extended worst form repression on muslims in Jammu Kashmir. This has created an environment more fearful than the terror of Ikhwanis. In this repression Renowned profreedom leaders Dr Muhammad Qasim and his wife Asiyah Andrabi are being particularly targetted.
The 24 years of the continuous incarceration of Dr Muhammad Qasim despite the recommendations of the review board and the detention of Asiyeh Andrabi in 1993, 1994,2005 and 2006 and then in 2008 and 2010. In 2016 not only she but her younger brother and her brother in law were sent to jail. In addition to this in 2016 she was held at Rambagh police station in February, March, August and in Eid ul Azha. She has been arrested despite her being very ill .she is being held in Rambagh where heavy construction is taking place just outside. The dust and pollution has taken a heavy toll on her already fragile health but she is not being released.
The silence adopted on her arrest by the international human rights organisations is condemnable. The silence of profreedom camp is striking as well.
